2XKO Community Competition Guidelines
This is your official guide to organizing 2XKO tournaments as a community member.
We’re super grateful for the hard work of tournament organizers (TOs) everywhere, and we want this to be an easy process for anyone who's interested in getting involved. In most cases, you don't need to apply for approvals to do your thing. Just use the Q&As below as your guide, and you’ve got permission to run a community 2XKO tournament using the assets and rights outlined here.
TL;DR: we invite community members to run tournaments for 2XKO. Take this as your 👍 to go make awesome events for other players.
This page will be updated over time as 2XKO’s competitive needs evolve. Last updated: August 18, 2025.

What type of tournament can I organize?
You’re free to organize 2XKO tournaments at any scale, from locals to a major that takes over a convention center.
Set up your event however you like. In-person, online, open, and closed formats are all fair game. You can also choose to run singles-only, duos-only, or mixed brackets—it’s up to you and your tournament’s goals.
Can I charge entry fees or make sponsorship agreements for my community tournament?
Yes to both! We know organizing costs not only time, but money—when TOs have the financial sustainability to keep growing their events, everyone wins. There are no monetary thresholds or limits for prizing, entry fees, or sponsorship agreements. We’d suggest that you make any entry fees reasonable and provide fair value in exchange.
However, there are some types of sponsors that you shouldn’t make agreements with. Click here to see the full list.
Can I use official 2XKO logos to promote my tournament?
Yes. You can use anything in this community asset kit to promote your tournament if you follow the brand guidelines.
Please note, however, that you can’t imply that Riot or the 2XKO team is directly involved with your event. This means—among other things—that you may not use the Riot logo in your marketing. Any Riot-owned logos and trademarks that aren’t included in the community asset kit (like names and logos for official Riot esports tournaments) are also off-limits.
Where can I broadcast my tournament?
Don’t broadcast your tournament on linear television (traditional broadcast TV). Other than that, you’re free to stream wherever.
Can Riot use my tournament?
Yes, because we want to be able to show off the cool stuff the 2XKO community is doing.
When we give you permission to organize events under these guidelines, you give us permission to share your event with the world for purposes of supporting 2XKO and its community. That could include showing off, adapting, and building on highlights and other event footage from your tournament on Riot and partner platforms.
More specifically: you agree that we may use, copy, modify, distribute, and make derivative works of your event/tournament for purposes of promoting 2XKO, Riot, and/or Riot esports, on a royalty-free, non-exclusive, irrevocable, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide basis, without having to credit you, pay you anything, or obtain your approval.
What should I avoid doing as a tournament organizer?
We expect tournament organizers to act in good faith and uphold the spirit of the community. Bad faith promises to players or partners, particularly those that involve money or prizing, won’t be tolerated. Riot may intervene at its sole discretion, including by shutting down an event.
I want to make sure Riot knows about my event. How can I do that?
If you want to give Riot visibility on your event, fill out this form. (The password is “letsgo”.)
Please note, this is a completely optional step and you most likely won’t hear from us after completing the form. This just helps us keep an internal catalog of what’s going on with the 2XKO community, and lets us see where we could potentially provide more event support in the future.
I’m representing a corporate brand or national government. Can I use these guidelines to run a community tournament?
Generally, not without talking to us directly. If you're a corporation or national government, you'll need our explicit permission to run a tournament. If this is you, contact Riot's partnership team at bdinquiries@riotgames.com.
Alternatively, there are a ton of awesome community-run events out there that you could sponsor instead.
What types of sponsors should I avoid making agreements with?
