2XKO Patch Notes: 1.2.3 (June 9, 2026)

Patch 1.2.3 drops June 9. Grab your duo, unlock Senna and Thresh and get ready for the climb.

Welcome to patch 1.2.3, our largest update yet. We’ve got a brand new PVE mode, two champions, and a ton of amazing new skins.

Also, Evo 2026 kicks off in just a few weeks, and we’ll get to see some of the best players in the world compete in the biggest 2XKO tournament yet. Now is the time to grab your friend and jump in!

As always, the game will be down starting from 9am PT when the patch drops on June 9. You can always check the status of the patch here or in the 2XKO client. Online matchmaking will become available once maintenance is complete. In the meantime, you can still play in Offline mode.

To access Offline mode on console, you must disconnect from the internet before launching 2XKO.

New Content

New Champion: Senna, The Redeemer

A champion of the light cursed by darkness, Senna blasts foes with her vaunted relic cannon before rushing them down as a shadowy wraith. With two forms to choose from, she’s highly capable of redeeming any corrupted soul. She’ll bring her Sentinel training to 2XKO on June 9.

Watch Senna’s move list video and gameplay trailer to see how she plays.

New Champion: Thresh, The Chain Warden

Wicked and cunning, Thresh is a malevolent specter that delights in tormenting opponents, imprisoning their souls in his lantern for all eternity. He uses his chain to attack from tricky and unexpected angles, while his lantern lets him teleport and summon jailed souls for aid. His evil schemes begin on June 9 in 2XKO.

Both Senna and Thresh can be purchased immediately with 1,000 KO Points or one Champion Token. You can also unlock them for free through their shared Champion Recruitment Event, which lasts for four weeks. After four weeks have passed, Senna and Thresh will become purchasable for 10,000 Credits.. Since two characters are being unlocked at once, this will take approximately 50% longer than a normal Recruitment Event.

If you want to get a sense of how a new champion plays before you unlock them, all champions are available to everyone in Training and Offline mode, even if they haven’t been purchased.

PVE Mode: The Climb

The Climb is our new PVE mode that you can tackle with a friend. Fight NPCs in random encounters, and win to unlock augments that change how you play. Augments can be both wacky and powerful—what will you try to build?

Complete The Climb-specific missions to get special rewards, including base chromas, avatar items, and stickers. Check out more PVE details in this article.

New Event: Chipotle

We’re excited to partner with Chipotle again to serve up an extra-spicy event, split into two parts.

Part one is happening June 16-28, and part two lasts from July 21 to August 6. Each event will have unique missions and rewards, so don’t forget to log in and check what’s new.

During both events, the Casual Lobby will be decked out Chipotle-style.

If you’re a resident of the United States, completing in-game missions will earn a chance to get real-life coupons to redeem at a Chipotle near you. More details to come in another article, dropping the day part one goes live.

Core Gameplay Changes

We’ve already communicated this, but our main core gameplay goal is to remove some edges from Teamfight, newly introduced in the last patch. (Yes, we know Freestyle is incredibly strong as well—we’re honing in on some targeted adjustments to that Fuse, which will land in our next patch.)

Teamfight Adjustments

In its current form, Teamfight allows for explosive offense, but counterplay is high risk with little reward. In high-level matches, having a second body to hop in and parry or block to prevent Break activation is too oppressive, and doesn’t line up with the Fuse’s intended identity.

To increase the decisionmaking around Teamfight, we're changing how it interacts with meter and adding more options for defending against it. Teamfight enthusiasts will need to work a little harder to tap into its maximum potential.

Offensive adjustments

Teamfight can now spend up to 6 bars of meter when used. (Up to 3 per champion.)

Teamfight duration now depends on the number of meter bars spent to activate it.

  • 2 bar: 5 seconds
  • 4 bars: 10 seconds
  • 6 bars: 15 seconds
  • Meter cost is still paid by both the Assist and Point champs. If one champion has 3 bars and another has 1, Teamfight will only use 2 bars total—1 from each champion.
  • Teamfight will always activate at the highest level possible. If you have the meter, there’s no way to choose a lower activation level.

Teamfight now has 12 frames of recovery, up from 5 frames.

  • Performing a Teamfight into parry was too strong as a defensive option.
  • 12 frames of recovery when performing Teamfight keeps combos intact, but severely reduces the viability of using it defensively.

Defensive options

Teamfighting champions can no longer block or parry an opponent’s Break activation.

  • Performing Teamfight then having the Assist block was creating unexciting play patterns with little counterplay. Note: this change applies to both the Point and Assist champion while teamfight is activated.

Successfully parrying a Teamfighting champion now immediately ends Teamfight.

  • Parrying in 2X is already a high risk high reward option, and parrying a Teamfighting champion previously did not lead to a significant advantage for the defender and was incredibly risky.

Hitting a Teamfighting champion now applies 2.5x more Teamfight duration reduction.

  • Successfully attacking an opponent’s Teamfight will now disable it significantly faster.

Other Core Gameplay Adjustments

Jump input priority

  • Input priority changed on jumps. If a diagonal is pressed prior to a jump, that direction is prioritized over up.
  • Note: Akali’s double-jump is different and is unaffected by this change. We’re still investigating the behavior for that particular jump.

Break adjustments

  • Break Bonus generation will reset if Fury expires while being combo’d by an opponent.
    • It was possible to immediately regain Fury if it expired while getting hit with a long combo. This no longer occurs.

Infinite block stun protection

  • Added infinite block stun protection while blocking mid-air.
  • While blocking opponents in the air, after 4 seconds of continually blocking, both attackers will be automatically pushblocked every time an additional attack makes contact.
  • This state is specifically targeted at aerial block stun infinites. It does not, for example, trigger if you block on the ground for a long time, then jump and block while airborne. Likewise, the infinite prevention system does not trigger off of standard aerial blockstrings.

Match intros

  • If both players skipped intros at the start of a match, rematches will automatically skip intros.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a bug where Tag Launcher could sometimes be used twice in a sequence if the combo started with a Tag Launcher.
  • Fixed a bug where it was possible to Handshake Tag the frame a successful parry occurred.
  • Fixed an issue where hurtboxes would be slightly distorted after performing a Break mid-air.

Champion Adjustments

Just want the high-level changes? There’s a summary at the top of each section. Dive into the details below.

This patch, we’re reducing the damage of Supers that can easily be performed multiple times in a combo without Double Down. This affects a few different champions. Ahri and Teemo are getting some more substantial game plan adjustments as well.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where spectating would sometimes display at a lower resolution than expected.
  • Fixed an issue where players who put their PlayStation 5 into Rest Mode while in Training mode would hear stage music playing in the main menu after exiting Rest Mode.
  • Fixed an issue where 2XKOs weren’t appearing when they should.
  • Fixed an issue where timing out during stage selection would occasionally cause the game to freeze.
  • Fixed an issue where the loading screen would persist and appear in the background of a match.
  • Fixed an issue where opponents would land face-up after a wall slump.

Miscellaneous

  • A super shady Shadow Isles-themed stage can be seen in Thresh’s champion spotlight and reveal trailer. It’s a sneak peek! That stage will be available at a later date
  • When progressing in The Climb, the post-match progression screen has a visual bug, which will display less progression than you’ve actually gained. Your correct mission and level progress will be properly represented on other menus.

Known Issues

  • There’s a known issue with Thresh’s forward dash and the frame meter. It appears to be absolutely busted, but the frame meter is lying to you.
    • Thresh can jump and block on frame 19 of his forward dash.
    • Thresh can act on frame 23 of his forward dash.
  • Attempting to challenge the Intro Bots with the lowest framerate and lowest graphical settings will cause the game to freeze. This can be circumvented by playing at medium graphical settings.
  • Thresh’s ghoul explosion gets very confused when it runs into other champion’s traps or projectiles. When it explodes on top of an opposing champion and their projectile or trap it will sometimes not hit the opponent champion.
  • If you reset in training mode while Senna is performing a Wraith Assist, it will cause a visual bug where Senna appears as a wraith but is still in her base form.
  • The Blood Moon: Sacrificial Rite finisher is still temporarily disabled due to a bug.
    • During this period the finisher will not be purchasable in the store.
    • It will temporarily be excluded from the Mega Bundle, and the price will be slightly lower to reflect this adjustment.
    • Once the bug has been fixed, it will become available for purchase again and will automatically appear in the account of anybody who already owns the finisher.
