Know Before You Go: 2XKO @ Frosty Faustings XVIII

It’s 2026 and we’re kicking off this year’s 2XKO Competitive Series with our first official Major: Frosty Faustings XVIII. Soon some of the world’s biggest fighting game players—including almost every winner from 2XKO’s First Impact program—will gather in chilly Lombard, IL to hang out, play some games, and shoot their shot at becoming 2XKO’s first Major champion. Mixed Mode Tournament

2XKO’s feature event, the first-ever Competitive Series Major, is a mixed mode tournament that runs from Friday, January 30 to Sunday, February 1. Competitors who place top 24 will split a $50,000 prize pool, and the Duo Bounty (an additional $3,000) will be awarded to the tournament’s highest-placing duo. Duos-Only Tournament

On Thursday, January 29, 64 teams will put their synergy to the test in a special duos-only 2XKO tournament. Catch the official stream from 4-7pm CST at twitch.tv/tampaneversleeps. 

Devs vs Pros Exhibition

Immediately following the duos-only tournament, 2XKO devs NerdJosh, ApologyMan, Yohosie, and Funtax will face off against pros Hikari, Diaphone, Supernoon, and K7 Showoff on Frosty Faustings’ main stage. While pros have only had Caitlyn in their hands for little over a week, the devs have been playtesting the new champ behind closed doors for months, and should have some sauce to showcase. Developer Meet n Greet

Frosty attendees can also hang out and run sets with 2XKO devs from 1-5pm on Friday, January 30 and 12-4pm on Saturday, January 31. We’ll be giving out free swag as well as cupcake-flavored popcorn in honor of our newly-released champion, Caitlyn.
